ICC Men's T20 World Cup

The ICC Men's T20 World Cup (formerly known as the ICC World Twenty20) is an international championship of Twenty20 cricket. Organized by cricket's governing body, the International Cricket Council (ICC), the tournament currently features 16 teams, including the top ten teams from the rankings at the given time frame and six other teams selected through the T20 World Cup Qualifiers.

A total of seven World Twenty20s have been played so far, and only the West Indies have won the tournament on multiple occasions. The fourth tournament, the 2012 World Twenty20, was held in Asia for the first time, with all matches played in Sri Lanka. West Indies won the tournament, defeating Sri Lanka in the final, their first international tournament win since the 2004 Champions Trophy.

The fifth tournament, the 2014 ICC World Twenty20, was hosted by Bangladesh and was won by Sri Lanka defeating India, making Sri Lanka the first team to play in three finals. Australia are the current T20 World Cup holders, having won their first title by defeating New Zealand in the 2021 final.
