There are many more benefits through this scheme, including the facility of overdraft up to Rs 5000. That is, you can withdraw up to Rs 5000 from your Jan Dhan account as and when required. However, for that, you have to take care of some things.

Aadhar Card is Important-Jandhan Account

Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana is one of the most ambitious financial schemes launched by the Narendra Modi government. But very few Jandhan account holders know that their account provides overdraft facility up to Rs 5,000. However, it is necessary to have their Aadhaar card attached to the bank account. Experts tell that if an account holder has linked Jan Dhan's account with Aadhaar card then he will not get an overdraft facility.

If you are a Jandhan account holder, then attach the Aadhaar card to your account. The purpose of PM Modi under this scheme was to open a bank account for every family. With the passage of time, the government added or expanded many benefits in this scheme. Under the Jan Dhan Yojana, the account of a child below 10 years can also be opened.

Keep These Things in Mind-Jandhan Account

To get an overdraft, you need to assure your bank. To be eligible for an overdraft, the Jan Dhan account holder will have to maintain an adequate account balance for the first 6 months. Apart from this, you will also need to make transactions in the account through RuPay Debit Card. In such a case, when the bank is assured, you will get the overdraft at a nominal interest rate.

Disadvantages of Not Linking Aadhaar-Jandhan Account

If you have not linked Aadhaar to your Jan Dhan account then you face many more losses. On RuPay Debit Card you get accident insurance of Rs 1 lakh, for which you do not have to fulfill the condition like keeping a minimum balance. But if the account is not linked to Aadhaar, you will have to lose your hands with this benefit. Apart from this, you also get an additional insurance benefit of Rs 30000. Thus in case of the death of the account holder, it can be claimed for up to Rs. 1.3 lakhs.
