  • Rice - 1 cup (cooked)
  • Tomatoes - 3
  • Green Chilli - 1
  • Ghee - 2 to 3 tbsp
  • Peas - ½ cup
  • Coriander - 2 to 3 tbsp (finely chopped)
  • Curry leaves - 8 to 10
  • Ginger - 1 inch (paste)
  • Garam masala - large cardamom-2, cinnamon-½ inch piece, cloves-4, 
  • black pepper- 8 to 10
  • Cumin seeds - ½ tsp
  • Salt to taste

How to Make Tomato Rice Recipe Step by Step?

Step1: Make a paste of tomato-green Chilli for the Rice. After this, coarsely grind whole spices such as large cardamom (peeled), cinnamon, cloves, and black pepper.

Step2: Put ghee in the pan and heat it. When the ghee is hot, add the peas and cover and cook for 1 minute. 

Step3: When the peas are cooked, take them out in a bowl.

Step4: Put cumin seeds in the same pan. After this, add coarsely ground spices in ghee and fry the spices. 

Step5: Add tomato green Chilli paste and mix, add ginger paste, curry leaves, and fry the masala till the ghee starts separating from the masala.

Step6: The masala is ready, add peas, salt, half of the coriander to the spices, and mix. Also, add cooked rice. 

Step7: Keep mixing all the ingredients on low heat till they get well.

Step8: Tomato Rice is ready, take it out in a plate and garnish with green coriander around it.

Step9: Serve the wonderful tomato Rice with curd or pickle in taste and eat it while chopping.

  • Rice - 1 cup
  • Fresh curd - 2 cups (churn)
  • Ghee or oil - 1-2 tbsp
  • Coriander leaves - 2-3 tbsp
  • Asafoetida - 1 pinch
  • Cumin seeds - half a teaspoon
  • Mustard or black mustard - 1 tsp
  • Urad Dal - Half a teaspoon
  • Curry leaves - 10-12
  • Green chili - 2 finely chopped
  • Salt to taste

How to Make South Indian Style Curd Rice Recipe?

Step1: Clean rice and soak it in water for half an hour.

Step2: Make soft rice and prepare it to make curd rice.

Step3: Put the soaked rice in the cooker and add 2.5 cups of water, turn off the cooker

Step4: Let the rice cook till 1 whistle, turn off the gas.

Step5: After the pressure of the cooker is over, open the cooker, soft rice is ready, take out the rice in a big bowl.

Step6: Put ghee in the pan and heat it, add mustard seeds, cumin and urad dal to the ghee and keep stirring continuously until the urad dal turns brown.

Step7: Add curry leaves, green Chillies, and asafoetida, then Tadka is ready to be added to the rice.

Step8: When the rice becomes slightly cold, add curd, salt, and green coriander to the rice, mix the prepared tempering and mix it well until the rice is well mixed.

Step9: Hot very delicious curd rice is ready, serve, and eat.
