How to Make Mumbai Vada Pav Recipe at Home in English?

Step1: Put the gram flour in a big bowl and prepare a thick solution by adding a little water.

Step2: Add red chili powder, salt, turmeric powder, and baking soda to it. 

Step3: Whisk the batter thoroughly with a spoon and whisk it for 3 to 4 minutes. 

Step4: Batter consistency should be like a batter of pakoras. To make this much batter, a little more than half a cup of water is used.

Step5: Peel and finely chop the boiled potatoes.

Step6: Then, fry the boiled potatoes. For this, heat 1 tablespoon oil in a pan. 

Step7: When the oil is hot, add mustard seeds. When the mustard seeds crackle, add cumin and asafoetida.

Make Vada Pav:-

Step1: Put oil in a pan and keep it for heating. Pick a little mixture from the potato mixture and make it round and keep it on a plate. 

Step2: After all the balls are formed, take a ball and put it in gram flour solution and fry it in oil.

Step3: Fry as many balls as possible in the pan at a time.

  • Refined flour - 1 cup (125 grams)
  • Cabbage - 1 (350 grams)
  • Carrot - 1 (50-60)
  • Coriander - 2 tbsp (finely chopped)
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Green chili - 1 (finely chopped)
  • Ginger - 1/2 inch (grated)
  • Salt - 3/4 tsp (as per taste)
  • Oil - for frying

How to Make Pan Fried Veg Momos Recipe at Home?

Step1: Take out all-purpose flour in a vessel and add 1/4 teaspoon salt to it and make a soft dough by adding a little water. 

Step2: Use some oil on your hands to make the dough smooth. 

Step3: Cover the dough and keep it aside for 10-22 minutes to set.

How to Make Stuffing:-

Step1: Wash and clean the cabbage, garnish it, and peel the carrots and wash them thoroughly and grate them.

Step2: Heat 2-3 teaspoons of oil in the pan, add grated ginger, green Chilli to the hot oil, fry it a little, turn off the gas, and put the fried spices in the grated vegetables. 

Step3: Add 1/2 teaspoon salt and finely chopped green coriander, mix all the ingredients well. 

Step4: Stuffing is ready.

The dough is set and ready, knead the dough with a little oil on your hands to make it smooth. 

Make small round balls from the dough and keep it covered so that it does not dry.

Pick a dough, make it round and wrap it in dry flour and roll it out round like a 2.5-inch diameter poori. (If the dough starts to stick to the Chakla while rolling, then dry it by rolling dry flour. 
While pressing the poori at the edges, do not roll it thinner from the middle. 

Put the rolled poori in a plate and likewise prepare all the pooris.

To make fried momos, cook the momos in steam for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, take out the momos and keep them to cool down. After the momos have cooled down, take them out in a bowl.

When serving momos, fry the hot momos.

To fry momos, put oil in a pan and heat it. Put momos in medium hot oil. 

(Fry as many momos oil as possible at a time). Turn the momos on medium-low flame until they turn golden brown. When Momose goes around the golden brown color, then place it on a ladle and keep it on the pan for a while.

So that the extra oil from momos goes back into the pan. Take out the momos on a plate. Likewise, fry all the momos and prepare them. (It takes 5-6 minutes to fry momos once). Fried momos are ready.
